Two students from Year 9 have smashed The King’s School’s Athletics Records for Discus and 1500m.

In May, Jack Smith threw an outstanding 39m 36cm in the discus, beating the previous record of 38m 50cm which has stood since 1993.
Along with Alex Fletcher who stormed the 1500m in 4mins 42.5secs, beating the previous record of 4 mins 45 secs which has stood since 2001.

Absolutely fantastic results! A huge congratulations to both boys!

In addition, The King’s School has had some other fantastic results at recent Athletics events and a selection of students have been selected to represent Wakefield in the West Yorkshire Championships:
