Pontefract Academies Trust are delighted to announce that Carleton High School and The King’s School will be “opening their doors” to prospective students and parents virtually this year, for what will be their very first “Virtual Open Evening”.
- Carleton High School’s Virtual Open Evening will be on Thursday 15th October 6.30pm and the link will be posted on their website: https://carletonhigh.patrust.org.uk/
- The King’s School’s Virtual Open Evening will be on Tuesday 13th October at 6.30pm and the link will be posted on their website: https://kings.patrust.org.uk/
Hundreds of parents and prospective students from primary schools across Pontefract will be able to gain an insight into their chosen school and listen to headteachers and current pupils talk about their experiences, all from the comfort of their armchair at home.
The format for both Carleton High School and The King’s School will be firstly a welcome from the headteacher followed by a talk from the head boy and head girl and then a live Q&A with key members of staff. A virtual tour of the school will also be available via a video link on each schools respective websites. Individual questions can be sent in via the Facebook page for the question and answers section.
Chief Executive Officer of Pontefract Academies Trust, Julian Appleyard OBE said, “Open days are so important for potential students and parents to get a real understanding of what life will be like in their future school. They’re also a fantastic opportunity for the individual schools to showcase all the outstanding hard work that the current students have achieved, even during lockdown. In these unprecedented times it’s vitally important that we continue to connect with our future students and I’m delighted that we are able to make this happen and host these open days, albeit virtually.”
