The King’s students in the top 10% nationally for Oxford Bebras Challenge
At the start of Term 2, Year 9 students at The King’s School had the opportunity to participate in the Oxford Bebras Challenge. The challenge is organised by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and delivered in partnership with the University of Oxford. It involves an online computational thinking test which assesses students’ problem-solving skills. Over 240,000 students participated in the UK and we are proud to share that 10 of our students obtained the prestigious GOLD award, which means that they performed in the top 10% nationally of the 240,651 students who took part. The King’s School student accepted into Opera North
Rhys, student at The King’s School, has been accepted into Opera North. This is a fantastic achievement and Rhys has full support from The King’s School, Pontefract Academies Trust, and the entire school community. The application process involved an audition at Howard Assembly Room (home of Opera North) where he had to sing a piece of music, alongside an organist.
