The King’s School win the Yorkshire Cup and Yorkshire Plate
The King’s School have achieved a double victory in rugby this season, with Year 7 winning the Yorkshire Cup and Year 9 winning the Yorkshire Plate. Year 7 won the Yorkshire Cup on their first attempt, beating fierce competition from Wolfreton, Hayfield and Prince Henry Grammar in the early stages of the competition. The final was played against Ermysteds Grammar, another highly competitive rugby school. The final score was 40-10, with outstanding performances from Oliver (Captain) and Daniel. The King’s students in the top 10% nationally for Oxford Bebras Challenge
At the start of Term 2, Year 9 students at The King’s School had the opportunity to participate in the Oxford Bebras Challenge. The challenge is organised by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and delivered in partnership with the University of Oxford. It involves an online computational thinking test which assesses students’ problem-solving skills. Over 240,000 students participated in the UK and we are proud to share that 10 of our students obtained the prestigious GOLD award, which means that they performed in the top 10% nationally of the 240,651 students who took part.
