Welcome from the Head Boy & Head Girl

Our Head Girl and Head Boy for 2022-23 are Ruby Archer and Alex Godridge. They lead the Year 11 Student Leadership Group (SLG) which comprises of our Deputy Head Girl, Beth Toon, and our Deputy Head Boy, Bailey Lockwood, alongside Lucy Farrar, Stevie Beaumont, Hayden Lamb and Ben Ibarra. We are really proud of our student leaders who are confident, mature and perceptive young people who have put themselves forward for the role in order to further develop their skills and confidence.

These students were successful after taking part in a robust process, including being interviewed by the Senior Leadership Team and sharing their vision for the school with all students through campaign videos. The students are aspirational for The King’s School, our students and the community that we serve. Some of their ideas include creating more wildlife areas around school to drive sustainability, developing more awareness of recycling opportunity in the school and providing students with peer support should they require it.

Together the students run our wider Student Leadership Committees (Wellbeing, Teaching and Learning, Environment, Diversity and Inclusion), and support students in Year 7-Year 10 in having their voices heard in a wider forum. The SLG create agendas for these meetings, linked to our school priorities, and create a list of actions moving forward. Our SLG frequently liaise with the Senior Leadership Team to put forward the ideas of the students and committees.

The SLG are key faces for the school and support in our events calendar throughout the year. Their main aim is to improve the student experience across the school and to leave a positive legacy for The King’s School.
