The King's School provides parents with information to ensure they stay up to date with their child’s progress at all times. Reports are compiled regularly for all students, and we offer numerous opportunities for parents to meet with staff throughout the year. Students are set aspirational targets at the beginning of Year 7 based on KS2 prior attainment. Assessments and attitude to learning are reported 3 times a year; in winter, spring and summer. The final end-of-year assessment is based on what students have learnt from the start of the year.
YEAR 7 WELCOME MEETING
Year 7 parents meet with their child’s form tutor to discuss how they’re settling in to secondary school life in the first term.
Our Parents’ Evenings take place regularly throughout the year. All parents are requested to attend: this is a key part of ensuring that we work in partnership with parents to ensure that students can achieve their full potential. A variety of appointment slots are available, with booking details given in good time before each event.
Every Tuesday from 6:00-7:00pm parents/carers are welcome to drop in to speak to the Head of School or Deputy Headteacher with any questions or concerns they may have. Please ring Diane Haigh, PA to the Head of School and SLT, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a convenient time.
Each half term all parents/carers are invited to the forum to share their views and discuss topical school issues. We meet in the Learning Resource Centre usually on the third Wednesday of each half term. The agenda items to be discussed are sent to parents/carers via our school app the week before the forum. Our first forum this year is on the 24th September.
Printed newsletters are given to students three times each year. They’re also made available to download from the school website.
We welcome parents to contact us regarding anything that concerns them. You can find all the ways you can communicate with us on our contact page. We will endeavour to provide a response within 24 hours.
